We Bow our hearts, we bend our knees
I think that is where it needs to start. When we begin to talk to God and open up is when things will begin to happen in our lives. We have to bow our heart. We cannot be pridefull and expect that we can do everything in our lives ourselves. We need God's help. We need to get on our knees and pray "Oh Spirit come make us humble."
We must pray for humbleness. You cannot help someone that isn't willing to be helped. God can't help us draw near if we don't let Him. The major action that gets in the way of this is pride. A lot of people get stuck on the fact they can do everything themselves so they dont need God except in the really bad times. We always need Him.
We have to turn from evil desires. Everyone has them including myself. There are so many things in life that though they seem good, are really just separating us from pursuing an intimate relationship with God.
We put alot of things ahead of God. They aren't necessarily bad, but they draw us away from God. There have been several times that I have put my own desires before worship and this eventually gets the best of me. These things are idols because we put them before God.
We live in a world where we use our hands to make things happen and craft things. Im using my hands as I type this to hopefully help someone else draw nearer to God. We need to pray to God and ask Him to give us clean hands daily so that everything we do and everything we craft with these hands would bring God honor.
What is truly in your heart? People know simply by your actions and what comes out of your mouth. Are you living a life that people know you are God's because of you actions and words? Ask God to give you that pure heart so you can be a light. Be a symbol of restoration.
It's about total devotion to God. We cannot be half and half and expect to serve God to the effectiveness that is possible. Do not hand your self to other things and expect to serve God fully and truly draw near because as long as you give yourself over to wordly things there is gonna be a constant tug of war. Hand yourself completely over to God.
This is so simple but so easily messed up all the time. We need to be a generation that is seeking God's face daily. Life is that simple. Seeking to see the face of God. Life is not as complicated as people make it out to be. In all you do, strive to glorify God.
