This leaf with THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR ART, moved me in a way that I have never experienced. I have appreciated God’s creation since I became a Christian, but never have I been more moved by God’s creation than when one of His daughters worshipped God because of His creation and wrote this on a maple leaf. I had to edit the picture some because it was taken with my blackberry but I still think it gets the message across.
As I write this, I wonder how we go about worshipping God and if we consider the simple things like a maple leaf that speaks to God’s creative power. It is amazing to think about the things in the world that God gives us that points back to Him. It amazing to me that Sarah recognized God’s art because so many of us do not. It speaks to the stewardship many of us are missing in our lives.
We may be great at organizing our time, social events, finances and the such but God has given us a commission to be good stewards of the earth. I truly believe that God desires to restore us and restore us to a Garden of Eden state of perfection. He gives us the commission in Matthew 2:15 – The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. Nowhere are we called to abuse it and ignore it.
I’ve been challenged and I challenge you. Do we take notice of God’s art and are we taking steps to admire and preserve it like we do other beautiful masterpieces in famous museums around the world? If we take notice of man’s creation we should so much more take notice of God’s creation.
