I cannot fathom the energy that I put out when I begin to chase after this desire, that idea and those things which capture my attention. The ability to have a deep and consuming passion for anything we chase, is intricately woven into our created being. It’s this passion that drives us to the edge of no return when something has truly captured our core being. For some it’s the thrill of adventures, for others it’s the ability to get lost in oneself. Passion drives us deep into those things which have our attention and sometimes passion causes us to get caught up into the wrong things and before we realize it, we have fallen off the edge.
And often what we hear, “You need to repress those feelings. You need to repress your passion. It’s going to get you into trouble.” But guess what, we continually fail to repress passion (a life force that drives us) because we don’t understand that we’ve been created passion bearing beings. It’s impossible to repress something that God has integrated into us. We often miss this and miss that our passion is to be focused and directed at something beautiful. Doesn’t it make more sense to channel the energy we waste on unholy things towards something Holy? Doesn’t it make more sense to channel our passion towards something beautiful?
